About Me

Des Moines Lincoln Head Coach, UW-Milwaukee ’07
Justin Einerson is a native of Two Rivers, Wisconsin and is the great nephew of Wisconsin Basketball Hall-of-Fame coach Ron Einerson. Justin is entering his third season as head coach of the Lincoln High School boys. Einerson is also the GEAR UP coordinator at the school, a program that helps students plan and prepare for college.
Einerson came to Lincoln after a 10-year stint in college basketball at various levels and various roles. Most recently, he was the defensive coordinator at Madison College, a junior college program in Madison, Wisconsin. With a large contingent of Einerson’s recruits in WolfPack uniforms, Madison won 20 games in 2016-2017 under first-year head coach Billy Kegler.
This is not Einerson’s first coaching position in Des Moines as he was the offensive coordinator at Grand View University under long-term coach Denis Schaefer from 2012-2015. The Grand View Vikings advanced to the MCC championship game in 2013. Grand View also advanced to the NAIA Division I tournament in 2017 for the first time in school history with players recruited and developed by Einerson.
Working under current Texas Tech Assistant Coach Mark Adams, Einerson spent one season at Howard Junior College in Texas. The Hawks compiled a 23-8 record and advanced to the Division I Region V championship game where they fell to eventual undefeated national champion, South Plains. At Howard, Einerson specialized in player development with the guards, two of which were named all-region.
Einerson spent three years as the lead assistant at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. At Clarke, Einerson was an integral part of the recruiting and player development efforts while working alongside Head Coach Jerry Drymon. In his final year at Clarke, the Crusaders doubled their win total from the previous season and recorded the fifth-best win total in school history. The 2010-2011 Crusaders also recorded a program record 3.1 grade point average. Einerson also picked up a masters in business administration from Clarke University in 2011.
Coach Einerson is a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he majored in history and served as the head manager of the men’s basketball program as a student. After graduation, Einerson spent the 2007-2008 season on Rob Jeter’s coaching staff as an Administrative Assistant.
Coach Einerson resides in the Beaverdale neighborhood of Des Moines with his wife Brittany. They are expecting their first child in fall of 2018.
